MailShot is a productivity app released by Soluble Apps few weeks ago, to enhance the capabilities of emails on an iPhone and iPad, letting users to send emails to a large group of people without having to enter each one’s email addresses separately. It allows iPhone and iPad users to email groups of up to 50 people from within any application that supports email just by selecting a single contact from their address book. These contacts can be used to easily email groups of family, friends, classes or work without having to choose each emails separately.
According to TopiPhoneNews, MailShot is the first iDevice app to integrate this “distribution list” capability into all email-capable app on the iPhone or iPad. What makes MailShot simple and easy to use is that it make use of the existing address book, by adding information of each users in the group identified by its name. For e.g. if you have a group named “Friends” and you add all those friends you like to have it in this group from MailShot app and click Update. This adds a new entry into your iPhone or iPad address book with name “Friends”. Choose “Friends” in the email app (To/ CC/ BCC) to send emails to all of these people.
You can download the application by clicking here. Configuring MailShot is simple and easy. Go to the app and create a unique group and add all the people you wish to have in this group. You can also edit this group anytime and also rearrange the order of each group, exactly the way we do it in iPhone Phone app Favorites. The app is free and also comes with a Top In App purchase of Premium version. The free version lets you create maximum of 3 groups and the premium up to 50 groups. Premium version is available for $3.99.
My Take:
I’ve only tried the free version and really like it, because of its ease of use. I’ve created 3 groups, whom I usually contact. MailShot let me save lot of time, without having me to search through my phone book for each email addresses. If you are a business user, the premium version of MailShot is really going to be great time saver!
