Apple has just released an update for iOS 5 which is believed to fix the battery issues users are facing with their iPhone 4S.
Similar to the Antenna issue surfaced when the iPhone 4 was out, the battery issues started showing up shortly after Apple released iOS 5 and iPhone 4S. Apple started investigating the rootcause of the issue and found that the issue could be caused by a software bug which is to be fixed by the latest update, iOS 5.0.1
You can download and update the iOS from your iPhone, iPad or other iOS 5 devices without connecting to a computer, unlike last time, if you’re already using iOS 5. In order to update from your iOS 5 devices, you need to be connected to a WiFi network.
To download and update iOS 5.0.1 from your iPhone, tap on Settings >> General >> Software Update. Your device will scan for the update. Once it show up on your screen, tap on “Download and Install”.
Hope this update will fix the notorious battery issue.
Other than fixing the battery issues, iOS 5.0.1 is also expected to fix many other bugs such as issues with documents in the iCloud and also voice recognition for users in Australia. iOS 5.0.1 also adds multi-tasking gestures for the original iPad.
