Many times you will require to find the backup of your iPhone/ iPad/ iPod/ iTouch created by iTunes on your computer. This could be for various reasons such as to copy the backup to another location prior to an iOS update to ensure you don’t lose any of your valuable data like your Address Book, applications, etc.
You can find the backup files of your iDevices at the following location:
On a Windows XP PC:
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
On a Windows Vista or Windows 7 PC:
\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
On a Mac Computer:
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Note: To create a backup of your iPhone:
Your iDevices are backed up by iTunes each time you Sync with iTunes, update your device in iTune or Restore it in iTune. iTune usually backup all your data on the device such as Address Book, Applications, Messages, Songs, Videos, photos etc.
